One of the world’s most celebrated green gemstones. Emerald is the green variety of the mineral beryl, colored primarily by trace amounts of chromium and/or vanadium. Its shades can range from soft, muted green to deeper and more saturated tones, and tumbled Emerald often retains visible matrix and natural inclusions that tell the story of how the mineral formed.

Energy and Intention

Emerald is traditionally associated with love, compassion, renewal, harmony, abundance, and emotional balance. Long admired across cultures and throughout history, it can serve as a meaningful reminder to nurture what you value, remain open to growth, and approach relationships—including your relationship with yourself—with intention.

Mineral Details

  • Origin: Brazil
  • Appearance: Green to blue-green, often with natural inclusions, veins, color variations, and matrix

Stone Care

  • Although Emerald is relatively hard, it can be more fragile than its Mohs hardness suggests because natural inclusions and fractures are common.
  • Avoid impacts, sudden temperature changes, harsh chemicals, steam, and ultrasonic cleaning.
  • Clean gently with a soft cloth and, when needed, a small amount of water.

Each Stone is Unique

Natural inclusions are extremely common in Emerald and are part of the stone’s identity. Tumbled pieces can vary considerably in color saturation, translucency, matrix, inclusions, and patterning. Some may be vivid green while others are softer or more earthy in appearance. Each piece should be appreciated for its individual natural character rather than expected to resemble faceted, gem-quality Emerald.
